The death of an elderly woman who was training at one of the gym chain’s facilities is reported. Smart Fitlocated in the Parque Tepeyac shopping plaza in the mayor’s office Gustavo A. Madero, Mexico City, adding to a list of worrying deaths that have occurred in these places.
The incident was shared by journalist Carlos Jiménez (C4) indicating that the 60-year-old woman was identified as Loyda Y. and that, according to witnesses, he was training when he simply faded in the place.
Unfortunately, by the time paramedics from the Rescue and Medical Emergencies Squad (ERUM) the woman no longer had vital signs, in addition to reporting that the gym did not have a medical service that could act immediately.
On the other hand, the CDMX Attorney General’s Office confirms having opened an investigation folder to determine responsibilities for the woman’s death.
Worrying deaths in said gym chain
The death that occurred this Tuesday adds to a worrying list of Smart Fit users who have lost their lives within its facilities, being 3 in just two monthss.
The first death occurred on February 12 when a 49-year-old man lost his life after fainting on a treadmill in a gym located in the Granjas México neighborhood in the Iztacalco mayor’s office, while the second man died. February 29 inside the Plaza Perta Aragón when a 20-year-old girl died inside a Smart Fit there.
The CDMX Prosecutor’s Office is already investigating what happened this Tuesday while the answers for the previous deaths are unknown.
