Election of Morocco to the presidency of the West Africa region (northern zone) of the International Lifesaving Federation
Rabat – The President of the Royal Moroccan Lifesaving Federation, Abderrazzak El Aoud was elected head of the West Africa region (northern zone) of the International Lifesaving Federation (FIS), during the general assembly of the international body, held recently in the Australian city of Gold Coast.
Mr. El Aoud was also elected vice-president of the African Rescue Confederation during this conclave, which was also marked by the holding of the general assemblies of the African Confederation and the African Rescue Academy, according to a press release from the Royal Moroccan Rescue Federation.
According to the same source, the secretary general of the Royal Moroccan Rescue Federation, Brahim Ben Zouina, was appointed secretary general of the African Rescue Academy.
Regarding the organization of the World Lifesaving Championship in the Kingdom, the press release continues, the executive board and the members of the FIS General Assembly examined the file for the organization of this world competition in Agadir in 2026, adding that Morocco’s application file benefited from the support of all the members of the FIS General Assembly.
