Baramulla: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that elections will be held in Kashmir as soon as the voter list preparation process is completed. He made the important announcement while addressing a rally in Baramulla on Wednesday, the last day of his three-day visit to Kashmir. He said that the election will be conducted to ensure transparency. Constituency re-determination has been completed. Those who are acceptable among the people will win the elections. He also said that they will govern.

He also stated that terrorism will be completely eradicated from the valley and make the country the most peaceful place. Shah added that India is not ready for any reconciliation talks with Pakistan. Shah was addressing a public rally in Kashmir.

Since the 90s, 42,000 lives have been lost in terrorist attacks in Kashmir alone. He also asked if terrorism has done anyone any good. Slow development in Kashmir is due to ‘Abdullahs, Muftis and Nehru-Gandhi’ family. They did nothing for the people of Kashmir. Shah accused them of misrule, corruption and lack of development.

Some are always talking about Pakistan. But what he wants to know is how many villages in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir have electricity connection and infrastructure. Some are saying that there should be talks with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. But why are we talking to Pakistan? It won’t happen. Instead we will talk to the people of Baramulla and Kashmir. Amit Shah said that the Modi government will not allow terrorism and will eradicate it completely.
