Electoral Commission concludes second phase of electoral training

Today, Wednesday, the second phase of training on voting procedures concluded at the headquarters of the High National Elections Commission in Tripoli. The training and procedures department at the commission organized and supervised the training and procedures department, targeting employees of the electoral administration offices in the western and southern regions.

The closing ceremony of the training was attended by the member of the Commission’s Board of Directors, Abu Bakr Marda, the Director of the Field Operations Department, Al-Sadiq Al-Zakkar, and the Head of the Training and Procedures Department, Abdul-Basit Al-Nafati.

According to the official page of the Commission on Facebook, Al-Nafati confirmed that they were keen during the training to ensure that the content was good and the level of training was high and comprehensive of all theoretical and practical aspects of the voting process.

Over the course of 4 consecutive days, the participants, numbering (20), received an intensive training program, which included basic information about voting, the procedures followed before the election day, how to deliver and receive materials, preparing voting reports, how the voting process is carried out, when the voting process is suspended, complaints and appeals, the end of voting, how to prepare for the settlement process, how the settlement process and filling out the form are carried out, the sorting process and its procedures, and the counting and filling procedures. A full simulation of the voting, sorting, counting and filling process was also embodied.

The head of the training department at the commission pointed out that during the upcoming training rounds, employees of the 372 polling stations will be trained, adding that this training program in the two stages comes within the framework of the commission’s preparations to implement the municipal council elections (first group).
