During the entire development of the contest, the latest generation and environmentally friendly vehicle will make a total of 8 daily trips, between the Los Dominicos Metro station and San Carlos de Apoquindo, on round trips.
Thus, attendees of the most important tennis event in the country will be able to travel in a comfortable and modern, zero-emission vehicle that has air conditioning, Wi-Fi, security cameras and USB charging ports.
“Being part of the most important tennis tournament in Chile obeys a policy that not only seeks to support the development of the sport in our country, but also incorporate technology, innovation and energy efficiency solutions to the sports facilities, such as the lighting of court 1 of the tournament in 2023, and this year incorporating a zero-emission electric bus for the free transportation of attendees, contributing to the neutralization of the carbon footprint of the event,” declared Karla. On behalf of ATP Chile Open 2024, Catalina Fillol, tournament director, stated that “part of our objective is to improve people’s quality of life and also highlight our city. We are a 360° event that incorporates sports, entertainment, social and that seeks to be increasingly more sustainable”.
“Having the Enel X electric bus is a contribution to achieving the goal of becoming a tournament with zero waste. Furthermore, it is an action that will bring everyone closer to this sport, as well as reduce the environmental impact and take care of the planet,” Fillol added.
For the presentation of the approach bus, the Italian tennis player, recent winner of the ATP Tour of Córdoba (Argentina) and current number 76 in the ATP ranking, Luciano Darderi.
Technical specifications of the electric bus
The approach bus, brand King Long and operated by Vivipra, has a capacity for 44 people sitting and standing, (one for a wheelchair).
The autonomy of the electric bus is 270 kilometersso it is only necessary to charge it once a day at the Enel X charging point located in the eastern area of Santiago.
