Regulation has simplified things
Another concern for owners of an electric car: standards and price transparency. Between the subscriptions that made one network captive and could exclude access to all the others, the stations that did not accept bank cards and the jungle of prices, recharging could quickly turn into an obstacle course in the first years. Fortunately, the regulations have brought some order.
“Next year we will celebrate ten years of standardization of the European standard, continues Clément Molizon. In France, it took some time to transpose it, but, since 2017, these standards are mandatory. There is one for normal charging, up to 22 kilowatts (kW); and one for fast charging. »
