Starting this morning (Friday), Israel Railways runs electric trains on the new line that travels between the stations of Netanya, Beit Yehoshua, Herzliya, Tel Aviv, Kfar Chabad, Lod and Rehovot. This is as part of final tests in preparation for the operation of the electric line as part of the schedule that will be operated starting tomorrow (today). With the operation of this line using electric trains, the railway marks the completion of half of the electrification project, with the conversion to electrification of about 500 km of track from The 1,000 planned to be electrified as part of the entire project. The operation of this line, which travels on central tracks along the coastal line, Tel Aviv and Lod, using electric trains, will significantly improve the service on other lines, which are still powered by diesel, that use these tracks, since the improvement of service and accuracy on a particular line results in a positive chain reaction on the other lines who use the same tracks.
