London: The government is preparing to make electric vehicle chargers mandatory in newly constructed buildings in the UK. With this, 145,000 charging points will be set up across the country soon. The government is planning to enact a law in this regard from next year

The new proposal will apply to newly constructed homes, workplaces, supermarkets and renovated buildings. The move is part of the government’s plan to ban petrol and diesel cars by 2030.

The government plans to increase the number of car charging units in view of the fact that many leading automakers are switching to fully electric vehicle manufacturing.
