In a significant move towards the green movement, electric vehicle sales in India are set to increase significantly by 2023. Overall electric vehicle sales across various segments crossed 15 lakh units this year. This is a growth of 48 percent compared to the total sales of the previous year.

As this development continues to grow, manufacturers are actively introducing new models to meet the demand of various categories.

2023 saw the launch of several electric cars, from entry-level models to high-end luxury vehicles. Following this, manufacturers are gearing up to introduce more new models in the coming months. Maruti Suzuki – EVX

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch its first electric car in India. Named EVX, the SUV was first showcased as a concept car at the Auto Expo 2023. The EVX is expected to be the first electric car from Maruti Suzuki to be launched in the market. To confirm this, the Maruti Suzuki EVX car has been continuously tested on the road for the past few months.

EVX In the model Two battery packs are expected to be offered. The base models are expected to get a 48 kWh battery pack and the top-end variants are expected to get a 60 kWh battery pack.

The range of this electric car is expected to be 550 km.

Mahindra XUV.e8

Mahindra has showcased the upcoming electric SUV e8 concept car in 2022. The car has been tested on Indian roads many times since then.

The XUV.e8 is expected to get a 60-80 kWh battery pack. It will also have a dual electric motor system that can generate between 335 bhp and 389 bhp of traction. Mahindra has also confirmed that it will come with all-wheel drive.

Tata Harrier – EV

After unveiling the Herrier EV at the Auto Expo in January 2023, the company is gearing up for its production line.

Harrier EV It is expected to offer two battery pack options. It is also expected to include an all-wheel-drive system. It is expected to reach a range of 500 km on a single charge.

Tata Curve EV

A few weeks ago, reports surfaced that Tata is planning to launch the Tata Curve electric car in 2024. The Curve EV was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 in Delhi.

This model is expected to cover a range of 400-500 km on a single charge. The Curve is said to have a larger battery pack compared to the Tata Nexon which currently has a 30.2 kWh battery pack. Additionally the Curve is expected to have a dual motor setup. It is said to offer all-wheel drive capability.

Mahindra XUV300 EV

It seems that the new Mahindra XUV300 baselift car will be launched soon. The entire front end is expected to be redesigned with new headlamps and new LED DRLS.

Mahindra plans to offer the electric XUV300 as a premium vehicle unlike any other car in their fleet. The XUV 300 EV is expected to come with a 40 kWh battery pack with an electric motor producing 130 hp for the compact XUV.

The car is expected to travel up to 300 km on a single charge.
