Electric vehicles: rental companies are accelerating, customers are reluctant

by time news

One small step for car rental companies, one giant leap for electric vehicles? In any case, this is what the public authorities, committed to promoting clean mobility, are hoping for. On January 1, the first level of obligation of the mobility orientation law (LOM) came into force. For rental companies, it imposes a renewal of 10% of the fleet with low-emission vehicles. And this is only the beginning, since the text also sets a progressive trajectory for the years to come (20% from January 1, 2024, 35% from January 1, 2027). The Climate & Resilience law recently set the bar even higher: 70% in 2030 (instead of 50% in the LOM).
