From July 1, 2023 electricity for household consumers in Bulgaria has risen in price by 4.37% on average for the country in one year, the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation reported (KEVR). The increase in the prices of heating and hot water is between 0.05% and 0.5%.

The least increase of the prices on electricity there is for EVN subscribers – with 3.78%, and the largest – for those of “Energo Pro” – with 5.43%. At “Electrohold” the increase was by 4.24%. These prices include the prices for network services.

The energy mix for household consumers includes 2.2 million megawatt-hours of electricity produced by TPP “Maritsa East” 2, with the aim of preventing the company from falling into financial difficulties.

The Commission notes that they implemented regulatory mechanisms that allowed the increase in electricity prices for household consumers to be nearly four times lower than the inflation rate.
