No delivery or obvious late delivery of bread in the morning for bakers, no bread for sale for grocers. The fault with electricity, more precisely with the power cut of JIRAMA which obviously does not have fixed hour. But it’s not just the consumer sector that is suffering, small businesses such as hairdressing are also victims. Because these sectors unfortunately do not have the means to afford generators to compensate for this interminable and unpredictable misdeed of this Malagasy water and electricity company.

For a few days now, load shedding has been back in the interconnected network of Antananarivo. The lack of fuel at the power generation plants is now the cause after the technical breakdowns announced in Andekaleka which caused energy production to drop before. This new concern must be combined with the low water period, that is to say at the lowest level of the water which should supply the hydroelectric power stations. We are also in winter.

Several districts of the city of Antananarivo and its surroundings are affected by this load shedding not to say that no one is spared. Last week, the presidential palace in Iavoloha was even affected. In its press release of Friday June 2, JIRAMA however indicated that there will be no more load shedding in the morning from this Saturday, since the cuts will take place in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. And the cuts will last about 3 hours, or they will be much more intense than ever.

All night the cuts were at the rendezvous, in the district of Ampefiloha. A respite took place between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. and then the return to the galley until 7:30 a.m. Users suffer so much, but who can finally understand them? The leaders of this water and electricity company really don’t care. Rants and ironies as well as insults no longer move them. The executives for their part close not only their eyes but also their mouths so as not to denounce the situation as before.
