The deals are based on tomorrow’s delivery day (August 6).

The energy exchange closed yesterday at an average price of BGN 267.23 per megawatt hour. This means that the electricity for the Bulgarian business for tomorrow will be cheaper by 10.62 percent compared to its price with a day of delivery for today.

The average price of peak energy (09:00-20:00) for tomorrow is BGN 210.25 per megawatt hour. Off-peak energy (01:00-08:00; 21:00-24:00) was traded at an average of BGN 267.46 per megawatt hour.

The Council of Ministers adopted a program to provide compensation to non-domestic end customers of electricity. The compensations are linked to electricity prices for non-domestic end customers and are for the period from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, subject to state aid rules. They will be in the amount of 100 percent of the difference between the real average monthly exchange price for base load of the “day ahead” segment of the “Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange” for the relevant month and the base price of BGN 180/MWh for non-domestic end customers, regardless to which network they are connected, reports BTA.
