Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has ordered to reduce the electricity charges levied during the peak usage time of a day for small and micro enterprises.

In a press release issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu, ‘The revised electricity tariff for the year 2022-2023 has been implemented from 10.09.2022. As the micro, small and medium enterprises have to pay excessive charges according to the current increased electricity charges, various industrial companies and trade unions have requested the government to reduce the peak hour charges.

Considering the important role of micro, small and medium enterprises in economic growth and providing employment, the government has decided to reduce the electricity tariff charged from 25 percent to 15 percent during the peak usage time for the enterprises with low tension power connection (Low Tension III-B) and to provide appropriate policy guidance. has decreed.

This reduction in electricity charges will benefit micro, small and medium enterprises in Tamil Nadu to a large extent’, the press release said.
