Electronicization of transit procedures strengthens Azerbaijan’s position as an important transit hub at the regional level.

As Day.Az reports with reference to Trend, the first deputy chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan said this Bahruz Guliyev during the Azerbaijan Trade Forum on the topic “Opportunities, current situation and challenges for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs)“,

Guliyev emphasized that the work of the committee is aimed at ensuring transparency of procedures, improving the accessibility of services and creating a favorable environment for entrepreneurs and participants in foreign economic activity.

“One of our priorities is the simplification and digitalization of customs operations, which will reduce costs and increase the efficiency of processes. We are introducing innovative solutions and modern risk management methods, which have already made it possible to automate most of customs procedures,” Guliyev noted.

Among the key projects, the Deputy Chairman highlighted the introduction of new electronic services and the development of digital infrastructure, thanks to which the customs control system in Azerbaijan has become one of the most advanced and user-friendly.

“As part of our initiatives, special attention is paid to the development of the country’s transit potential. Electronicization of transit procedures and participation in international systems allows us to strengthen Azerbaijan’s position as an important transit hub at the regional level,” he added.

Guliyev also noted that the committee’s efforts are aimed at creating favorable conditions for attracting foreign investment, stimulating non-resource exports and expanding the presence of Azerbaijani goods in foreign markets.

“In this regard, projects have been implemented to simplify customs procedures and increase the competitiveness of national products. We strive to ensure that the customs service not only complies with international standards, but also sets new guidelines in the field of customs administration, creating conditions for free and safe trade.” , Guliyev emphasized.
