Police have recovered elephant tusks worth around Rs 1 crore from Goribari forest in West Bengal. Three people have been arrested in this connection.

The arrested have been identified as Asit Oran, Anil Oran and Punilal Nagachia. Asit and Anil are residents of Phulbari area. Punilal hails from Garitura.

The vehicle was impounded in the Koshbukur forest area of ​​Goribari area. The smuggled ivory was confiscated. Their market value is Rs.1 crore.

The three arrested did not provide any documents or any information regarding the ivory. Police are currently investigating the trio and their other accomplices.

Police said this particular place in North Bengal has become a hub for wildlife trafficking.
