Actually, the Elevator Boys wanted to release their first single on July 7th. But then it suddenly became quiet around her.

The five boys Tim Schaecker (24), Luis Freitag (23), Jacob Rott 23), Julien Brown (22) and Bene Schulz (21) have been in public as the Elevator Boys for two years. They quickly gained worldwide fame with their funny TikTok clips and have over 2.3 million fans on their joint account on the platform.

In addition to daily feel-good videos on social media, they have since worked on a number of advertising campaigns, have moderated various events, appeared on TV shows (including “Germany’s Next Top Model”) and now even make their own music as a band. And that without a single day’s break.

Now it was all too much for them!

After a week of radio silence on all social media channels, the five now address their fans very openly in a video on Instagram and describe how they have fared in the past few weeks.

“We have to talk to you,” Bene starts the very serious video. “We were offline the entire last week. And that was the very first time for us in two years.”

They explain: Since they have been on the road as the Elevator Boys, they have only worked and taken little time off to see their friends, go on vacation or spend time with their families.

In London, they then presented their very first song in front of 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium. Release date should be July 7th. But Luis reveals: “Then everything just became too much for us.”

“We have very, very rarely had time for ourselves in the last few months. And to really listen to us, how are we doing with all this pressure. And slowly we ran out of breath a bit,” says Jacob.

The Elevator Boys are extremely grateful to their fans for their years of support

Bene explains why the social media break was necessary: ”We drew a line. We said it just couldn’t go any further at this point. We have to postpone the release. That’s exactly what we’ve done now. We took a week off.”

“For two years we have been in a real sensory overload. And then there is the pressure of being active on social media every day,” Bene continues.

“In addition, we sometimes have the feeling that we can’t always show when things are going badly for us. But we saw that for the first time and said, let’s listen to our bodies, we have to take a break. To take care of our mental health,” says Tim.

Their fans don’t blame them for the break. On the contrary: The boys get a lot of encouragement for their honest words and for taking care of their mental health.

“I am so thankful for you! Thanks for your understanding! Thank you for your unlimited support! It’s important to get some time for yourself, your family and friends and most importantly to show the reality of social media,” Julien thanked the fans.

Tim, Jacob, Julien, Luis and Bene are now starting full of energy again. The next project: shooting her first music video!
