jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Constitutional Court (MK) granted the lawsuit to remove the threshold for presidential and vice presidential candidates or the presidential threshold of 20 percent.
This was decided in the trial of case number 62/PUU-XXII/2024 which was held in the Courtroom of the Constitutional Court, Jakarta, Thursday (2/1).
Responding to this, the Indonesian Millennial Mobilization Coordinator (PMI), M. Adhiya Muzakki, said that the Constitutional Court’s decision was a breath of fresh air for the Indonesian people.
“This is a breath of fresh air for all of us, this gives birth to political opportunities, all political parties can present good figures in the future,” said Adhiya, Saturday (4/1/).
“The Constitutional Court’s decision opens up opportunities for political parties to present political figures in the future, in accordance with aspects of the criteria for future development,” he added.
Adhiya assesses that the threshold for presidential candidacy being 0 has a big influence on the openness of future leaders and is an opportunity for the public to choose the best figure.
Adhiya emphasized that the Constitutional Court’s decision made political parties have to work harder and compete openly in presenting the nation’s best leaders in the future.
Leader maturity, said Adhiya, should be an indicator for political parties in selecting presidential candidates.
The elimination of the threshold for presidential candidacy is a breath of fresh air for the people.
