In transport and energy, trade unionists fear “overflows”
In the transport and energy sectors, at the forefront of the dispute, several union officials warned Thursday of possible “overflows” or “individual shares” rank-and-file employees, following the government’s decision to use section 49.3.
“I don’t see anything strong and hard, it’s going to be something hidden, actions here and there, with the risk of overflowing. It could turn into anything.”Jean-Christophe Delprat, federal secretary FO in charge of the RATP, told Agence France-Presse.
For Frédéric Ben, in charge of gas at CGT Energie, who has been coordinating the strike on all Storengy gas storage for many days, “a certain insurrection is possible”. “We are fighting the radicalization of movements, (…) but on a picket line, there are not only [grévistes] CGT, and the agents, they do what they want”did he declare.
The government’s recourse to 49.3 to have its reform adopted could push “to tougher, more serious, heavier actions, which are not necessarily in our collective decisions”added Fabrice Coudour, federal secretary of the CGT Energy. “Individually, each electrician, each gas operator is capable of doing things that can be very heavy. And that’s not our goal either, the users are with us, not against us”he pointed out.
