Erling Moe’s side drove past Lillestrøm before the break, and Molde’s Kristian Eriksen told TV 2 on the way to the break that the team should have led by more than two goals after a one-way drive in the first half.
The 2-0 goal was unlucky. Martin Linnes sent a shot from 20 meters and hit the post. The ball then bounced back into the back of LSK goalkeeper Mads Hedenstad and into the own goal.
– It is one of the strangest goals I have ever seen. It’s a strange goal, talk about having the edge against Lillestrøm’s goalkeeper, said TV 2 commentator Haakon Frydenberg.
In the FotballXtra studio, Yaw Amankwah sat during the break and could hardly believe how weak LSK were on foreign turf.
– The first half is bad, and half completely rotten, he fired.
He believes the approach to the game was like a gift package for an attacking Molde team.
– It is a bit shocking to see ahead of the first goal and the great opportunity for Kristian Eriksen on an almost open goal. It comes from them (LSK) trying to play freely against a Molde team they love when they do that. They position their players to be able to press and pressure them to get the game in their favor.
The pain also worsened for the Lillestrøm side after the break when in-form player Mathias Fjørtoft put Løvik 3-0 up after 67 minutes.
The goalkeeper put an end to a magical attack involving both Mats Møller Dæhli and Martin Linnes.
Lillestrøm was not close to points at Aker Stadion, and is still in seventh place with 16 points. Molde is third and just one point behind Brann after the Bergens put in a great performance against Bodø/Glimt earlier on Saturday.
