Only the family were present at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in Windsor

The last act of the funeral took place behind closed doors: after services and a funeral procession, Queen Elizabeth II was only buried in the presence of the royal family.
Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest at Windsor Castle on Monday evening. The Queen has been buried, the royal family said. The burial took place behind closed doors. With her burial in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, a separate part of St George’s Chapel, Elizabeth II was reunited with her parents, her sister Princess Margaret and her husband Prince Philip.
The Queen’s state funeral began in the morning with a funeral service at Westminster Abbey. About 2,000 guests attended the service, including numerous monarchs and other heads of state such as US President Joe Biden.
Let down into the crypt – then the official part was over
The Queen’s coffin was then taken in a solemn procession to Wellington Arch in Hyde Park and then driven to Windsor in a glazed hearse. Numerous people had lined the approximately 35-kilometer route to say goodbye to the Queen.
Another funeral service was held in St. George’s Chapel in the afternoon with 800 guests. The Queen’s coffin was then lowered into the Royal Tomb. This ended the public part of the state funeral for Elizabeth II, who died on September 8 at the age of 96. The funeral took place in the company of the royal family.
