The rematch in the quarterfinals will be signed tonight (Thursday, 19:30) with the remaining meeting, in which Maccabi Tel Aviv is hosted by Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa, but at the home Bloomfield Stadium, after a 0: 2 advantage from the first game, a pair of Elon Almog.
Mladen Krastić’s team will come to the contest with five consecutive victories in all competitions, the last of which was earlier this week, with 1: 3 over Hapoel Nof Hagalil in the Premier League. In the round of 16, the Yellows from Tel Aviv defeated Kiryat Shmona at the end of a penalty shootout.
Kabilio Jaffa, which is considered the Cinderella of the factory, also comes after a streak of three victories. The team from League A will try to surprise the team from the top of the first league, in order to reverse the result and register one of the biggest sensations in the factory. In the previous stage, Itzik Baruch’s team also defeated Hapoel Adumim Ashdod from the national league at the end of a penalty shootout.
Both teams come to the contest knowing that one of them will advance to the last four stages, and will be the last to actually determine the semi-final picture. The possible rivals that are already waiting at this stage are: Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Haifa and Hapoel Beer Sheva.
