Tech mogul Elon Musk confronted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in English and Spanish via messages on his social network X, formerly Twitter.
The exchange of insults comes after Venezuelan authorities declared Maduro the winner in the recent election on Sunday, July 28, which was questioned by the opposition and international authorities.
“The people of Venezuela have had enough of this clown,” Musk said in one of his messages. “If the military supports the will of the people, it’s over for Maduro,” he posted in another.
Maduro responds to Musk’s remarks
Maduro did not remain silent either and responded to Musk’s accusations. In a live message through Venezuelan media, Maduro said that Musk was his “archenemy” and said that the tycoon was trying to create a “virtual reality.”
“He would like to come with his rockets to invade Venezuela,” Maduro said, without any evidence that this is Musk’s plan.
Musk took that video and posted it with the message: “the donkey knows more than Maduro.” And then he ironically said: “sorry for comparing the poor donkey with Maduro. It’s an insult to the animal world.”
