Elon Musk Files Lawsuit Against Advertisers Over Twitter Boycott
Elon Musk, the tech mogul, filed a lawsuit yesterday against a group of advertisers and several business organizations that he accuses of causing billions of dollars in losses to his social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Musk claims that the companies boycotted X “illegally” and collectively withheld advertising revenue.
The lawsuit targets the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and corporations Unilever, Mars, CVS Health, and Orsted. Musk accuses them of conspiring through the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) to withhold billions of dollars in advertising revenue from X.
Musk claims that this boycott threatens X’s ability to progress in the future. He is seeking unspecified compensation from the defendants.
This lawsuit comes a day after Musk filed another lawsuit against his former AI company, OpenAI, accusing its co-founders of betraying the company’s founding mission.
