Elon Musk passed Barack Obama to become the most popular account on Twitter. The first place was taken a few months after he bought Twitter for 44 billion dollars

Elon Musk is now the most followed person on Twitter. Musk, who is also the owner and CEO of the platform, has reached over 133 million followers, passing former President Barack Obama, who has slightly less followers than Musk. Musk has 133.05 million followers, which is more than former President Barack Obama, who has 133.04 million

Singer Justin Bieber is the third ranked account with 113 million followers, former President Donald Trump has an account with about 90 million followers, but Trump does not use it.

Musk’s rise can be attributed to the frequency with which he tweets – usually several times a day – compared to Obama who tweets a few times in a given week and singer Bieber whose last tweet was in December. The first place was taken a few months after it bought Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022.

Musk, who is also the founder of Tesla, and SpaceX, has been criticized since he took over the company for his decision to fire most of Twitter’s staff and his decision to stop remote work and requires employees to come to work in the office.

He also made many changes to the platform, sometimes even reverting those changes within minutes, causing some confusion among users. Musk has also tried to boost the platform’s revenue by charging a fee that allows accounts to maintain their Blue Hoy verification status.
