NATO launches appeal
Meanwhile, in Brussels, before a meeting of NATO foreign ministers, Jens Stoltenberg launched an appeal:
“I call for an extension of the truce. This would allow much-needed relief for the people of Gaza and the release of more hostages. The suffering we have witnessed highlights the need for a lasting political solution”, said the secretary general of the Atlantic Alliance.
The day in Israel was also marked by the visit of the President of Germany to another of the kibbutz attacked by Hamas.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier has been in Israel since Sunday and, during his visit to the kibbutz, announced the donation of seven million euros for the reconstruction of the art and meeting centers destroyed in the attack by the Palestinian group.
