Elon Musk wants to increase the efficiency of his Tesla factory in Texas. To do this, he resorts to controversial methods. His employees are supposed to sleep in the factory hall, reports “yahoo finance”. Musk wants to bring his new Tesla model onto the market as quickly as possible to redefine the electric vehicle landscape.
According to the report, the measures are not unusual for Musk. Tesla employees had previously had to sleep on the factory floor in order to meet ambitious production deadlines. Previous reports from the Tesla factory in California highlighted cases in which workers had to work long hours in difficult conditions.
As a result, the Tesla boss was accused of labor law violations and abuse. An investigation has shown that there are significantly more safety violations at Tesla production facilities compared to other US car factories.
The Redwood project is intended to set new technology standards
The relatively cheap Tesla model with the code name “Redwood” is scheduled to come onto the market in 2025 and cost around 30,000 US dollars (27,835.50 euros). This is intended to simplify access to sustainable means of transport.
It is an ambitious project and requires “an enormous amount of new, revolutionary manufacturing technologies,” Musk told Business Insiders. The technology should ensure that a new benchmark is set in the automotive industry and promises to “far surpass any other manufacturing technology that exists anywhere in the world,” Musk explains.
The new model is also a response to growing competition from China. The electric car manufacturer BYD Auto Company Limited recently replaced Musk’s company at the top of the global market – even though BYD Auto has not yet sold a car in the USA.
