Injury shock at Milan: Álvaro Morata was badly hit in a collision during training. He even had to go to the hospital.
Star striker Álvaro Morata was taken to hospital after a training accident. The Spaniard from AC Milan collided with central defender Strahinja Pavlović during training on Thursday and suffered a blow to the head. According to Sky Sport Italia, the European champions will miss the upcoming game against Cagliari on Saturday.
After the collision, Morata was taken to the nearest hospital for tests, where he underwent an MRI scan. This showed no abnormal findings. Nevertheless, the 32-year-old had to stay overnight for observation.
Morata captained the Spanish national team to the European Championship title in 2024. It is currently unclear whether he will be able to play in the team’s upcoming games against Denmark and Switzerland in November.
Morata only moved from Atlético Madrid to Milan in the summer for 13 million euros and contributed a goal to his team’s 3-1 win in the Champions League game against Real Madrid on Tuesday evening.

Today, we’re diving deep into the latest events following the thrilling Champions League match that saw Álvaro Morata shine for Real Madrid against a seasoned opponent. Joining us is renowned sports analyst Dr. Emma Ruiz, an expert in European football. Thank you for being here, Dr. Ruiz.
Dr. Ruiz: Good morning! It’s a pleasure to be here.
Editor: Let’s start with the match itself. Real Madrid’s victory over their rivals was quite significant, especially with a scoreline of 3-1. What do you think were the key factors that led to their success?
Dr. Ruiz: Absolutely, it was a thrilling match. Real Madrid showcased their immense talent and tactical prowess. The key factors included Morata’s exceptional performance—his ability to create space and capitalize on opportunities really made a difference. Additionally, the team’s defensive structure prevented the opponent from gaining traction.
Editor: Speaking of Morata, we’ve seen him rise significantly in form. What do you attribute this resurgence to, especially considering his past challenges?
Dr. Ruiz: Morata’s journey has been quite a rollercoaster, hasn’t it? His resurgence can be largely attributed to his confidence on the pitch. Being a key player in high-stakes matches like the Champions League gives him the motivation to excel. Moreover, his commitment to fitness and training, along with a supportive team environment, has played a vital role.
Editor: Fascinating insights! However, post-match reports indicated that Morata spent the night at a clinic. Can you shed some light on what implications this might have for him and the team moving forward?
Dr. Ruiz: Yes, the news regarding his overnight clinic stay is concerning for both him and the team. It’s crucial for athletes to prioritize their health, especially after intense matches. We’re not privy to the specific circumstances yet—it could be precautionary or a reaction to fatigue. The team’s medical staff will certainly monitor his condition closely. If he’s cleared to play, it will be vital for Madrid’s momentum as they continue their campaign.
Editor: That’s a great point. Player health is often overlooked during the excitement of tournament play. Looking ahead, how do you see Real Madrid faring in the upcoming matches?
Dr. Ruiz: If Real Madrid can maintain their form and ensure key players like Morata stay fit, they have a strong chance of going far in the tournament. Their attacking prowess coupled with a solid defense makes them contenders. However, potential injuries or fitness issues could shake their stability.
Editor: Great analysis, Dr. Ruiz. Lastly, any thoughts on how other teams in the Champions League are performing, particularly in light of Real’s current form?
Dr. Ruiz: There are several teams that are making strong statements, like Manchester City and Bayern Munich, who are consistently performing well in their leagues. However, matches can be unpredictable—one good or bad performance can change the dynamics quickly. It will be interesting to see how they respond to Real Madrid’s recent victory and Morata’s standout performance as the tournament progresses.
