Embraer (EMBR3) signed an agreement with American Airlines to participate in the Energy Project advisory group.

The movement takes place through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American company, and the aforementioned advisory group is made up of a team of airlines, aircraft leasing companies, suppliers and other aviation experts who advise the Energia project of Embraer to develop sustainable aircraft for the future.

According to the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, with the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the companies will work together to define and establish real-world requirements for sustainable, emission-free and commercially viable aviation.

It also states that American Airlines has the largest and most modern fleet of regional jets in the United States. The airline is also a market leader in the drive for more sustainable flights and was named the 2023 Eco-Airline of the Year by Air Transport World.

In 2022, American Airlines used more than two million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel and invested in development and infrastructure for hydrogen propulsion.

The US airline will work with the Advisory Group and Embraer to define performance and design requirements for the four Energia concept aircraft. These 9- to 50-seat jets will utilize electric, hydrogen and hybrid propulsion technologies.

The EMBR3 share ended the 26th quoted at R$ 17.12.
