Emergencies Fire in Schwerin extinguished – main station released again

Flames and plumes of black smoke near Schwerin’s main train station: it has since been evacuated due to a fire. Now the trains are rolling again.
The fire in the railway and technology museum in Schwerin, which led to the closure of the neighboring building for several hours main station was deleted in the evening. The station has been open again since 6.45 p.m., the trains stopped again for boarding and alighting, said a spokesman for the Federal Police of the German Press Agency. However, there could still be delays.
Around noon, the main train station was completely closed due to smoke from the fire, and trains were stopped at stops outside Schwerin. Since 5:00 p.m., trains have been able to roll through the main station again without stopping.
The fire had caused extensive impairments in local and long-distance traffic to and from Schwerin. A replacement service has been set up for travelers. According to the information, according to current knowledge, no one was injured by the fire. Police say the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
