The Home Front Command’s emergency preparedness exercise will take place throughout the day (Tuesday) at the Beit Dagan local council and the Sdot Dan regional council, as well as in Pardesiya in the Sharon area. As part of the exercise, ascending and descending alarms will be activated and alerts will be received in the Home Front Command app in the relevant areas.
The Home Front Command calls on citizens to cooperate with the exercise: “Residents are asked to practice while activating the alarms and warning alerts to the protected areas and to ensure their readiness for emergencies.”
Alarm activation times throughout the country:
- At Beit Dagan, the alarms will be activated at 10:05 and 19:05.
- In Moshav Ganot Vigel the alarms will be activated at 10:15 and 19:15.
- In Mishmar HaShiva, Nir Zvi and Zeitan, the alarms will be activated at 10:25 and 19:25.
- In Moshav Hemed and Ahiezer the alarms will be activated at 10:35 and 19:35
- In the village of Chabad, the alarms will be activated at 10:45 and 19:45.
- In Moshav Tzafria, the alarms will be activated at 10:55 and 19:55.
The IDF spokesman also said that if a true alert is activated, another rising and falling alarm will be sounded.
In addition, in the Pardesiya local council area, there will be an emergency preparedness exercise in which, in addition to alarms, defense against missile fire and entry into the protected area will be practiced, as part of rising and falling alarms throughout the council and in the education system.
As stated in the exercise, ascending and descending alarms will operate for 90 seconds, and alerts will be received in the Home Front Command widget at 11:05 and 18:05.
The Ministry of Defense will also hold an extensive exercise today by the national emergency system and government ministries, in dealing with an unconventional (radiological) terrorist incident. The exercise will be held in the Jerusalem District, at Teddy Stadium and at the Arena Lottery Hall. The exercise is led by the Ministry of Defense and the Israel Police and with the participation of emergency bodies and relevant government ministries: Magen David Adom, Israel Fire and Rescue, IDF, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Jerusalem Municipality.
The exercise takes place as part of a series of exercises in the field of tobacco (unconventional terrorism), which take place every year. The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that this is an exercise planned in advance, and is not related to such or other occurrences.
“National responsibility for dealing with unconventional terrorist incidents rests with a government decision on the Ministry of Defense, which coordinates treatment at the national level, and conducts the exercise through a national crisis management team, headed by the Defense Commissioner,” the defense ministry said.
