“Emily in Paris” in Rome, Lily Collins: Finally Leaves the Phone

by time news

Rome, 11 September (askanews) – The protagonists of “Emily in Paris” conquer Rome. The entire cast of the series beloved all over the world came to Italy to present the new episodes set in the capital, which are part of the fourth season, on Netflix from 12 September. The character played by Lily Collins obviously falls in love with the city, and not only that. Her “Marcello”, who could make her forget the Frenchman Gabriel and is played by Eugenio Franceschini, shows her the most beautiful views of the capital, from the Colosseum to the Trevi Fountain, from Piazza di Spagna to Villa Borghese. “Normally when she goes to a new place, on holiday, her first thought is: I have to photograph it! – said Collins – But in this case she is pushed to live the experience, not to remember it through a photo. For me it was important to highlight this aspect, and in fact in the last scene she decides to leave her phone at home. I really appreciated this choice”. At the beginning of these last five episodes of the season, we find Emily immersed in a sentimental mess and having to deal with some professional changes. The girl in love with fashion is changing, and even her costumes reflect a certain growth and maturity. She is making her way, she is asserting herself and she is becoming stronger, with a style that reinterprets the codes of Parisian fashion. “None of us always understands what is happening to us,” the actress explained. “Sometimes we need to verbalize our feelings to understand it, for example. For me it was important this season to show the vulnerability of my character. She hasn’t had a break down yet but we have seen in the past some moments in which she was very vulnerable. I liked that in these episodes she felt safe with her friends, her colleagues, her relationships, so much so that she could collapse, let herself go. It’s something that we can all understand.” And about a possible fifth season in Italy, the actress said: “I would like to go to Tuscany, on the coast, I think there would still be a lot to explore in Italy for Emily. Let’s hope.”
