by time news

Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to end visa stamping on expatriate passports. From April 11, visas will be replaced by an official Emirates ID, an official identification document. The order was issued by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security. Accordingly, UAE residents will no longer have to stamp their residency visa on their passport. The Emirates ID can be used in all situations where a residence visa is required. When traveling to the UAE from abroad, airlines will be able to verify the passport number and Emirates ID of the passenger’s visa details.

As part of the new changes, the UAE Emirates ID was recently updated with more information.
