Emmanouil Karalis Finishes 6th in Diamond League After Olympic Bronze Medal Triumph

In his first competition after winning the bronze medal in pole vault at the Paris Olympic Games, Emmanouil Karalis cleared 5.80 meters but ended up in 6th place at the Lausanne Diamond League.

Specifically, with a jump of 5.82 meters on his second attempt, he secured the 6th position.

At the meeting in the Swiss city, the pole vault event took place outside the stadium, and the atmosphere was festive. The stands in the square where the event occurred were packed with spectators who set the rhythm for an event reminiscent of a party.

Emmanouil Karalis, with the accompaniment of the syrtaki during each of his attempts, started at 5.52 meters, then skipped 5.62 meters and moved up to 5.72 meters, followed by his jump of 5.82 meters, which required a second attempt to clear. At 5.92 meters, he had three failed attempts.

This was the 13th competition of the summer season for the athlete, who trains with Haris Karalis, and it was the sixth time this year that he cleared over 5.80 meters.

The next competition for Karalis is at the Diamond League in Silesia on August 25.
