David Lappartient will not be alone in applying for the post of president of the French Olympic committee (CNOSF) to succeed Brigitte Henriques, who announced her resignation on May 25. Co-president of the Fsgt – the Sports and Gymnastics Federation of Labor – Emmanuelle Bonnet-Oulaldj has just sent a letter to the administrators to tell them that she is applying for the position.

“After careful consideration, consultations and validation by the Collegial Federal Directorate of the FSGT, and being currently an administrator, I inform you that I will be a candidate for the presidency of the CNOSF. I am aware of the need to work resolutely to overcome internal divisions and to create the conditions for peaceful governance, looking to the future and serving the general interest, ”writes the one who was already a candidate in 2021. (16.05% of the votes).

The one who has symbolized “sport for all” for several years, presents herself as a potential president concerned with the success of French athletes during the Olympic Games – “The CNOSF will be there with the CPSF (Editor’s note: the French Paralympic Committee) for continue to create optimal performance conditions for this unified French team” – but also of the heritage.

“As at every major sporting event and what is more for this one, we can hope to welcome many and many additional members in our clubs, she specifies in her letter. For this, conditions must be created. Those of unity first, and above all of our collective strength, associating the CDOS (Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee), CROS (Regional Olympic and Sports Committee) and CTOS (Territorial Olympic and Sports Committee), to offer content that meets the changing needs and expectations of the population in its diversity, while respecting the ethics and integrity of people, and our ambition to continue to have associative sport recognized as a right for all”.

She continues: “The heritage of Paris 2024, in the sense of the development of quality physical and sports activities for all, must be our compass in support of the complementarity of our federations. The place of sport in our society, in all its dimensions, is being built today. Tomorrow, it will be too late. Admittedly, I am not from an Olympic federation. But I am also applying in the name of the values of Olympism centered on a cultural and humanist dimension of sport”.

Mother of a little girl, Emmanuelle Bonnet-Oulaldj will face David Lappartient, candidate from an Olympic federation (cycling) and member of the International Olympic Committee. The other applicants have until Monday, June 26 to make themselves known. The Board will meet three days later to elect, by secret ballot, the successor to Brigitte Henriques, while the CNOSF has been going through an unprecedented governance crisis since September.
