“In Central Asia, warming is leading to a reduction in the area of ​​glaciers, one of the main sources of water resources in the region. In May next year, our country, in accordance with the resolution of the UN General Assembly, plans to hold a high-level international conference on glacier conservation in Dushanbe. We invite your countries to take part in this event. In the context of climate change, drought as one of the global problems also has negative impacts on all countries, including our Central Asian region,” Rahmon said.

The President noted that instability in the world has a direct impact on the socio-economic development of developing countries.

According to Rakhmon, the threats of international terrorism, extremism, radicalism, cybercrime, illicit trafficking in weapons, drugs, and other types of cross-border organized crime are also increasing.

“They can only be countered if there is a clear and consistent strategy. Tajikistan has consistently advocated expanding cooperation with all international partners in the fight against these threats and challenges,” he said.
