Uyakamba Lamps (HYMAS) were installed in all 5 constituencies of Karaikal district during the last Congress regime using the funds allocated for the welfare of the Adi Dravida people by the Adi Dravidar Welfare Development Corporation (BATECO). It was alleged by the then Lt. Governor that it was established in uninhabited areas of Adi Dravida. Hence, these lights have not been brought into use yet. As time passes in the name of investigation, government money is wasted.

Also, lights should be immediately installed on the HYMAS lamp posts installed in the residential area of ​​Adi Dravida people and brought to use. He said that it has been requested to instruct the government departments to properly maintain the electric lights.
