Employer – Saudi Ministry to bear the change of employment expenses

Jeddah: The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) has informed that it is the responsibility of the employer and not the employee to pay the fees for changing the job of foreign workers.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development said that the employers are responsible for paying the residency fee of the non-Saudi workers and the fine for not renewing the work license including Iqama renewal.

The ministry also clarified that after the termination of the contract between the worker and the employer, the cost of the ticket and exit for the worker to return to his home state shall be borne by the employer.

The Ministry has also directed that it is the responsibility of the employer to issue the experience certificate to the employee free of charge for the period from the date of employment to the date of termination of employment and the last salary received by the employee should be recorded in this certificate.
