Artist Mahmoud Helhel is unique in mastering artistic paintings of marine compositions that he created from the vocabulary of his environment.

According to Helhel, the marine paintings consist of various marine materials that are collected from different marine areas and beaches, such as shells of all kinds and sea sand in white and black colors, in various shades of sandy color, and marine materials that are used for the first time by handwork, as the artist makes the appropriate adjustment to his painting.

Helhel works on documenting the Syrian marine life with its creatures and topography, providing information through his personal experience, and supporting it with academic information through his own documenting page on marine life on Facebook.

In parallel with his work as a teacher of drawing and a trainer in a number of associations and centers on drawing and handicrafts, Helhel finds sufficient opportunity and time to carry out various activities in the field of research and development of new methods based on analyzing the scene and redrawing it in a way that depends on color spots and geometric shapes.

Helhel arrived at what can be called a hybrid painting technique, which is based on merging hand-drawing with electronic drawing, taking advantage of the enormous color options and speed in coloring, and adding color and motion effects in a way that preserves the spirit of personal character.

It is noteworthy that the artist Helhel has been a teacher of drawing in Syrian schools for seventeen years, and the secretary of the fine arts office at the Bayader Cultural Forum in Tartous, a member of the Syrian Scientific Historical Society, the supervisor of the drawing team in the Sons of Hope initiative, and a participant in most of the governorate’s exhibitions and festivals at the Syrian level. several.
