An empty gas cylinder weighs 2.5 kg more than it normally should. A gas dealer from the Bandarawela area in Sri Lanka has tested it. It has taken him by surprise.
The gas seller said, “This gas cylinder comes with 12.5 kg of gas. Empty cylinder, weighing 12.2 kg. The full cylinder filled with gas will weigh 24.7 kg.
However when I shook this cylinder which is currently in hand I heard a noise as if something was inside. There was no gas in it when the button on the top of the cylinder was pressed. However in addition it was found to weigh 2.5 kg. When it was pressed back on the other side, it came out like a black liquid.
Meanwhile, a person from Nirmalapura area said that there was a leak in the gas cylinder in his house. He immediately went to his house and checked the cylinder and found that something was leaking from it.
The Sri Lankan government has announced that the gas cylinders should be inspected immediately and action has been taken.
