‘Lucifer’ released in 2019 was the biggest box office success ever in Malayalam cinema.

mEmpuraan Movie is the much awaited movie by Layalees. The reason for this is the second part of Lucifer directed by Prithviraj and starring Mohanlal. Updates related to the film have been well received by the audience. Now Prithviraj has informed that the script of the film has been completed and the shooting will start next year. The actor’s response was in the press conference held in connection with the movie Tiger.
‘Actually, I did not come to Thiruvananthapuram for shooting. To read Empuran’s script with Murali. Empuran’s full script is locked. Laletan and Anthony Perumbavoor have been informed about the script being locked. The plan is to start shooting next year’, says Prithviraj.

During the announcement, Prithviraj had said that Empuran is a film that needs a bigger canvas than Lucifer and that the second part can be considered because the first part was successful. ‘Lucifer’ released in 2019 was the biggest box office success ever in Malayalam cinema. Empuran was also announced after the release of the film. Prithviraj had said that they knew from the beginning that they would need three films to tell the complete story of ‘Lucifer’ and the sequel was planned because of the success of the first one.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal is busy with his first directorial venture ‘Barosi’. Prithviraj also plays a role in the film, which features Mohanlal himself in the title role. Shaji Kailash’s ‘Katuva’ was Prithviraj’s last release.
