A hiker walking toward a large lake in California, turned around and spotted a mountain cougar, also known as an “American lion,” three meters away from it • What did he do?

What do you do when in the middle of a nature walk you encounter a mountain cougar? Well, the National Parks Service in the United States advises travelers to roar at the threat.

In a short video filmed Jan. 8 in California and posted on a social network by a hiker, the guy is seen walking toward a large lake, when he suddenly turns around and notices a mountain cougar, also known as an “American lion,” three meters away.

In the video, the hiker is seen screaming in horror, when he notices her – and retreats with a run.

The cougar emerges from the thicket and gallops towards it. After short seconds of running, the hiker turns around, roars loudly at her and manages to scare her.

Then what happened? She returns to the thicket and disappears from sight.

The cougar that chased the hiker is probably a small puppy of the mountain cougar.

The traveler shared the video and wrote: “Puma is a locust for me. I ran and scared her away with a roar at the last minute. “
