Started to be a National Week of the Culture of Resilience, this 20th edition of the biennale of culture was on arrival a “exceptional edition”. According to the minister in charge of culture, Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo, “the multiple postponements of this edition devoted to diversity as a vector of national unity, have therefore not dampened the enthusiasm of artists for an edition that meets all expectations”.

Going further, Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo underlined that since its creation in 1983, the National Week of Culture has always brought together the sons and daughters of the country around a common ideal. “Our country, Burkina Faso, remains confident in the values ​​of humanism and peace long promoted within our communities,” did he declare.

The Minister also noted a craze among the younger generation. He then calls to write the history of the biennale of culture “in order to build national and international public opinion on her quarantine journey, her precious achievements, the multifaceted challenges that face her, and above all to consider the prospects”.

For her part, the technical secretary of the SNC, Christiane Sanon/Coulibaly returned to the results of this 20th edition of the SNC. According to his words, “at least twenty (20) major activities were carried out in twenty-two (22) spaces across the city of Bobo-Dioulasso and involved nearly 2,000 artists both in competition and at the festival”.

She also added that several activities have been scheduled with the aim of making the SNC more attractive and more festive. On the specific case of the fair, Christiane Sanon/Coulibaly indicated that more than 600 exhibitors took part in the activity. Coté, festival-goer, she indicated that the fair was very busy”. More than 300,000 people visited the fair this year.
