The Italian government, led by Giorgia Meloni, from the extreme right, decided to end as of this Tuesday (1st) its reddito di cittadinanza program (citizen income), equivalent to a minimum income for the poorest. According to the authorities, the aid system, which benefited families in a precarious situation in the country, will be definitively abolished by January 2024.
