END OF WHATSAPP | Goodbye to WhatsApp: the app will stop working on these phones in 2023

by time news

The more time passes, the more obsolete an object becomes, due to (or thanks to) new technologies and features. The same happens with smartphones, which are renewed year after year and it is also difficult to keep up with all the models that come out. New models, new software, as well as the myriad updates applications need.

“Old” smartphones are finding it increasingly difficult to function and support new and updated software. In most cases, it is also the software itself, be it the operating system or an application, that decides the useful life of the devices themselves, even if they are fully functional. This means that even WhatsApp will stop being available sooner or later for certain types of devices.

The world’s most popular messaging app will no longer be available for some smartphones from January 2023. WhatsApp developers have released the list of devices that will no longer support the app due to an outdated operating system.

Starting next year, WhatsApp will no longer be available on smartphones and tablets running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and iOS 12.1. Android 4.2 is an operating system that was released in 2012 while iOS 12 in 2018. Therefore, all devices that now do not support this setting will no longer be able to use this app.

To find out if your smartphone is on this list, you have to go to the system settings and look for the information about your operating system.

The simple trick to be invisible on WhatsApp: you just have to click a button

Gone are the days when we had to spend a lot of money to be able to afford the famous text messages that cost an arm and a leg. WhatsApp has changed the lives of millions of people around the world: the messaging application has been around for many, many years, and it allows us to interact with whoever we want without paying any extra fees and whenever we want!

WhatsApp is undoubtedly the most popular messaging application in the world. Since its introduction, it has undergone significant changes, since at first it only allowed people to talk, now it is possible to communicate with groups, exchange photos and even send documents and our location while moving.

Born in 2009, it was immediately a huge success both in America and in the rest of the world. However, as always, the issue that most worries users when it comes to this type of application is the issue of privacy. What is changing in WhatsApp?

The well-known application is now ready to take the big leap: it is a revolution that on the one hand will delight many users, while on the other (in all probability) it will turn the noses of the most curious.

Very soon and with the new update it will be possible to establish a new function. Some kind of superpower? Apparently, the possibility of being “invisible” will be introduced… What does this mean? It means that when we’re online, we don’t necessarily have to tell the rest of our address book. Writing a message can be done with greater privacy and without allowing us to be spied on and “surveilled”.

In the meantime, however, waiting for the notification of the update that seems to arrive as soon as next spring, we equip ourselves with what the messaging application provides us for the moment. Do you think it is not possible? We are going to surprise you with two alternatives that few people know about but that are very useful if you want to stay connected and not be seen by the rest of the agenda.

There are two easy tricks to send messages offline, so that each user can have their individual privacy without risk of being seen:

Notification preview – This way allows us to read and respond to messages without having to log in to the platform and, therefore, without appearing to be connected to the device. This allows us to appear offline without anyone being able to figure out our last login.
