2022 is Tyrese Halliburton’s breakout year. The center, who was traded from the Sacramento Kings to the Indiana Pacers, became one of the best centers in the league and this season he leads it in assists. Tonight, between Saturday and Sunday, he said goodbye to the year with a very exciting 130:131 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.
The start was for the Pacers, who won the first quarter 22:32 and were helped by a very good game by Myles Turner, who dominated under the baskets and led Rick Carlisle’s team for most of the time. In the second and third quarters the team from California started to come back and stick to the home team, mainly thanks to Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.
The fourth quarter was tight throughout, with the lead swinging from side to side, but Halliburton, who scored six points in three quarters, rallied and with 18 points gave his team’s final victory of 2022.
The center scored a total of 24 points, handed out 10 assists and recorded four steals. Turner led the winner with 34 points, Buddy Hild added 18 points. On the other side, George was tremendous with 45 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Leonard tried to help with 24 points and seven assists, but to no avail.
