DIG/ The Minister of Economy and Recovery Nicole Jeanine Roboty, her colleague of Energy, Oswald Séverin Mayounou accompanied by the managers of Gabon Power Company and CODER Gabon, had an important working session on June 5, 2023 in Abidjan during the Africa CEO Forum, with the Vice-President of the African Development Bank in charge of electricity, energy, climate and green growth.
The round table focused on the point of PPP projects under consideration at the AfDB, in particular the Kinguele Aval and Ngoulmendjim hydroelectric dam projects, and the Owendo natural gas thermal power plant developed by GPC and its partners.
The ministers reminded the AfDB Vice-President of the government’s desire “accelerate the implementation of its priority projects for Gabon, in order to support the economic and industrial development of the country. »
In particular, projects that should substantially increase the share of renewable energies in its energy mix.
The Gabonese Delegation invited the financial institution to pay particular attention to the evaluation of the socio-economic and environmental impacts caused by the long delays in the mobilization of funding.
