Enforcement action against 600 companies in last 2 months for security violations

In the past two months, 12 stop orders have been issued and fines have been imposed 232 times in Singapore for workplace safety violations, according to the Ministry of Manpower.

It was shared on Facebook that between August 15 and October 17, the ministry conducted more than 750 tests.

A total of 1,828 enforcement actions were taken against 558 companies, it said.

Tests were conducted at workplaces in sectors including construction, manufacturing, transportation, and food service.

Identified violations

• Failure to recognize slip and fall hazards and take appropriate action

• Failure to properly maintain the floor

• Failure to ensure that employees wear proper footwear
