England won the first test by 5 wickets and took the lead in the series. Today, Sunday (01 September) in the Lord’s Test, the English defeated Sri Lanka by a big margin of 190 runs and confirmed the series victory with one match in hand.
Sri Lanka were bowled out for 292 runs in 84.4 overs after going into bat against a huge target of 483 runs set by England. The hosts won by 190 runs.
Young Turk Gus Atkinson took the reins of Sri Lanka’s batting. He bowled 16 overs and took 5 wickets with 62 runs including 4 maidens. He took 2 wickets after scoring a century in the first innings.
