Many people worshiped at places of worship on the eve of the English New Year. Devotees were allowed to follow the corona spread prevention measure.

Special anointing

At the Thanjavur Great Temple, a special anointing, decoration and display of Deeparadhana was made to Goddess Peruvadiyar, Goddess Periyanayaki. Devotees waited in long queues from yesterday morning till evening to perform darshan.
Special pujas were conducted at all the temples in Thanjavur district, including the Punnainallur Mariammankoil and the Kumbakonam Adikumbeswarar temple. A special tiruppalli was held at Boondi Mata ‘Church’ the day before yesterday at midnight.

To welcome the New Year, the priests led by Tanjore Bishop Devadas Ambrose conducted a special choir return.

At the Thiruvannamalai Arunachaleswarar Temple, at 4:00 am, the temple walk was opened and a special anointing took place. A special pooja was held for the concerned Ganesha and Moolavar with gold armor.

At the famous Anjaneyar Temple in Namakkal, the procession opened at 5:00 am and 1,008 Vadamalas were offered to the Swami. Following this, Swami blessed the betel leaf evening. Then Swami was anointed with various spices and flowers and a golden armor was placed on him.
Devotees not only from Namakkal but also from various districts including Salem, Erode and Trichy waited in long queues to see the Swami. As a corona prevention measure, only devotees wearing face shields were allowed to worship.

Vision

There is a famous Amanalingeswarar temple where Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma have risen together on the banks of a river in Thirumurthymalai near Udumalai, Tirupur district. A large number of devotees came and waited in long queues to see Swami.

Tourist excitement

Thousands came from various parts of Valparai, Coimbatore district. The district collector had instructed the hostel owners to ensure that those who had been vaccinated twice were allowed to stay in the hostels by showing the relevant certificates and following the infection control measures. But, in most hostels, this order flew in the air and people forgot about the spread of the disease during the New Year celebration.
Tourists also flocked to Dharmapuri district, Okanagankal to celebrate the New Year. Enjoyed a gift ride with the family on the Cauvery River. Due to the spread of the corona, the crowd was low due to various restrictions imposed in Tamil Nadu and neighboring states.

The ban on massaging and bathing continues with corona control. The sidewalk leading to Mainaruvi was locked and police were engaged in security.

On the way home after the English New Year celebrations in Pondicherry the night before yesterday, drunk drivers were involved in an accident. Some were injured when they collided with a barrier and fell down. Of the 20 car crashes, 21 were injured.
